A new home

March 2nd, 2007

Ponyfish is moving to a new server this weekend. The new environment should give the site a little performance boost. Downtime should be minimal: feeds will continue to be served as normal, but the account tools and feed creation process will be down for 15 minutes or so. Check back here for an exact time and status of the move.

UPDATE:

The initial migration went fine, but some problems were encountered in the middle of the night that caused the site to be down for a few hours. Everything looks like it’s back to normal now, and the problem shouldn’t happen again.

We’re terribly sorry for any inconvenience the downtime caused. If you want to let off some steam about it, feel free to contact us.

Account Changes

November 19th, 2006

A number of changes to Ponyfish accounts went into effect today, centering around our decision to place a maximum on the number of feeds for each account. All new free accounts will get a maximum of three active feeds.

However, users who have created a free account before today will not have any of their feeds deactivated if they already have more than three feeds. Existing users should look for an email detailing the changes. You can view your current maximum at the top-right corner of your account page.

In addition, we have released a number of inexpensive subscription plans. You can visit http://www.ponyfish.com/pricing.html for more details on what each plan offers.

If you have any questions or comments about the changes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Support for extended character sets

October 25th, 2006

We’ve had problems for a while with feeds that contain certain extended character sets. I’m happy to report that all the problems appear to have been fixed. More feeds will validate than ever before, and you have full functionality to edit the feed, assign meta data, add filters, and more.

If you happen to run across a feed with problems, however, feel free to contact us.
